Derbyshire – A place that works for investors and talent

Derbyshire offers a compelling environment in which businesses, people and investment thrive.

Centrally located with direct access to the M1, A50 and A38, five international and freight airports and strong mainline rail connectivity, the county provides national reach with competitive operating conditions.

Beyond connectivity, Derbyshire offers an exceptional quality of life that directly supports business performance. Affordable housing, higher‑than‑average regional earnings, strong schools and outstanding natural assets – including the Peak District National Park and Derwent Valley Mills UNESCO World Heritage Site – help employers attract and retain skilled talent.

With access to major cities including Derby, Nottingham, Sheffield and Manchester, businesses benefit from urban markets and research assets while operating in a county that offers space, resilience and long‑term stability.

Many creative industries also cluster here, providing opportunities for office and creative workspaces.
