High Peak and Dales
The High Peak and Dales are predominantly rural and defined by the Peak District National Park. The north of the county is closely linked to the economies of Sheffield and Manchester. A highly skilled area with affluent market towns. Food and drink manufacturing, biopharma and quarrying are key drivers in the area. Many creative industries also cluster here, providing opportunities for office and creative workspaces.

Chesterfield and the M1 Corridor
This area is defined by excellent connectivity; a strong road infrastructure (M1, A61), superb rail links and five international and cargo airports all within easy reach. It has a rich industrial and engineering heritage, and a growing reputation for logistics and distribution. There are a number of sites available for industrial, office, housing and leisure development, as well as the flagship Markham Vale and the impressive town centre regeneration schemes.
